Clash detection answers an important question: do two modeled objects occupy the same space? A field team has to answer several more. Can the component reach its final position? Is there room to assemble it? Can a technician open, remove or replace it later? Plantica keeps those questions attached to the same facility context used for design coordination.
Start from installed conditions
A clean design model is not the same as the facility that exists. Structural tolerances, earlier installations and undocumented changes can affect the available route. Coordinate design geometry with current scans or verified site data before calling the model ready.
Review the space around the object
Centerlines and equipment solids show geometry, but execution requires working space. Add access zones, flange pull space, door swings, tool clearance, insulation thickness and maintenance envelopes to the review where they affect a decision.
Keep decisions attached to location
A screenshot in a message loses context quickly. Record the issue, owner and agreed action against the affected equipment or area so design, fabrication and site teams review the same condition.
Field-ready review checklist
- Existing conditions are current and aligned to the project coordinate system.
- Installation and lifting routes have been reviewed.
- Access, operation and maintenance envelopes are visible.
- Fabrication tolerances and insulation are represented where relevant.
- Every open decision has an owner and an affected location.
