Clash detection shows whether modelled parts occupy the same space. The installation team needs more answers: Can the part reach its position? Is there room to fit it? Can it be removed for maintenance? Review these questions against the current facility model and verified site information.

The facility may have changed since its original design. Added equipment and piping affect the space available. Compare the new design with a recent scan or verified site measurements.
Check installation and maintenance space
A part fitting in place is only the first check. Review the room needed to open doors, remove flanges, use tools and reach the equipment.
Record the location of each issue
Identify the equipment and its location. Record the proposed change and who is responsible, so design, fabrication and installation teams can review the same issue.
Pre-installation checklist
- The model has been checked against current site measurements.
- Transport and installation routes have been reviewed.
- Operating and maintenance clearances have been checked.
- Insulation and fabrication tolerances have been considered where needed.
- Each outstanding issue has a location and an owner.
